Deadlock Discord: Servers, Invites, and How to Join
There is no single "deadlock discord." The term points to a whole family of servers built around Valve's 6v6 hero shooter MOBA. The biggest and most important is the Deadlock Community server, which describes itself as the largest Deadlock Discord and is affiliated with the r/DeadlockTheGame subreddit and deadlock.wiki.
Discord's own server discovery page returns 36 results for a Deadlock search, most of them under the Gaming category. Other popular servers focus on regional communities, mods, stats tracking, and a weekly esports show. Most Deadlock discords do the same few jobs: share news and updates, hand out playtest invites, and help you find teammates. Below is what each server offers and how joining actually works.
The Official Server and How Invites Work
Deadlock is still in limited testing, so getting into the game and its Discord are connected. Valve states, "Access is currently limited to friend invite via our playtesters," which means current players can invite others. The r/DeadlockTheGame subreddit describes Deadlock as an Early Dev Build in Limited Testing with experimental gameplay and placeholders.
The official Discord invite is tied to the game itself. A Reddit thread titled "How can I Join Official DeadlockDiscord" describes the invite as single-use. One player reported that the game said he had already taken the invite even though he had not, and a moderator replied that nothing could be done once the single-use link was gone.
The suggested workaround was extreme: make a new Steam account and invite it to Deadlock to receive a fresh single-use Discord invite. The subreddit's sidebar lists a Community Discord alongside the Deadlock Wiki, official forums, and latest patches, which is how many players first find the server. Because invites are limited, communities forbid paying for them, and the r/DeadlockTheGame rules include "No Offering or Requesting Payment For Invites."
The Largest Community Servers
Deadlock Community is the largest Deadlock Discord by a wide margin. It lists around 476,000 members and says it is affiliated with r/DeadlockTheGame and deadlock.wiki. Its discovery page showed roughly 173,000 members online at the time it was captured.
A second community-run server is simply named "Deadlock." Its description says it is dedicated to Valve's MOBA and helps people find the latest news, teammates, and events, and it lists roughly 8,000 members.
Discord's own discovery page notes that all server stats are approximate, and member counts may be up to one week out of date. The Russian-language Deadlock СНГ is another large hub at around 104,000 members, advertising itself as the largest Deadlock server in the CIS.
Regional and Language Servers
Deadlock has a strong set of regional servers for players who want to chat in their own language. Deadlock RU Community, at roughly 22,000 members, is described as a place to discuss the game, find a party, and get an automatic in-game invite. Discovery listed around 3,500 members online on the Deadlock СНГ server at the time it was captured.
Deadlock [RU] is a smaller Russian-language server for the competitive shooter, with around 7,000 members. Other options include Deadlock Brasil, at roughly 11,000 members, and Deadlock France.
Deadlock France says it brings together the French-speaking communities, offering guides, lobbies, sharing, and events. Deadlock Brasil describes itself as a space to find players, follow events, and stay up to date. These servers are useful when you want teammates who speak your language and play in your region.
Invite-Giveaway Channels and Finding Teammates
A popular how-to video explains that the Deadlock community Discord has a dedicated channel for giving away invites. People post instructions on how to add them and receive an invite.
The same video lists four ways to get access overall: ask Steam friends, use the Discord invite channel, post in the Reddit megathread, or browse the Steam discussions. It warns you to check whether a person is currently inviting, since many posters add a disclaimer that they are closed.
If you already have access, these same channels double as looking-for-group spaces. You can post your Steam friend code and wait for others to add you, or scroll until you find someone offering an invite. Your friend code lives under your profile, in the friends and add-a-friend section.
Tools, Mods, and Stats Servers
Several Deadlock discords are built around third-party tools. Deadlock Mod Manager is the official community for a free, open-source app that browses, installs, and manages Deadlock mods, and it lists around 33,000 members.
Deadlock Tracker is described as an advanced stats tracker for Deadlock, with roughly 14,000 members. Deadlock Night Shift is the community for a weekly esports show that airs every Wednesday at 10PM EU and 4PM Eastern, with around 7,500 members. The subreddit's event calendar also lists upcoming Night Shift episodes, such as Night Shift #62.
Creators also host Deadlock-focused servers. AverageJonas is a partnered community for a Twitch and YouTube creator who covers Valve's Deadlock, listing around 19,000 members. Leaf's Shenanigans is another creator-run server, with roughly 8,000 members.
The Culture and Memes Inside the Server
A video titled "The Deadlock Discord Has Lost Its Mind" describes the official server as being in "complete madness" every day. The center of attention is a person named Yoshi, who posts the announcement when Deadlock is ready for an update. The video says hundreds of people spend hours spamming gifts while waiting for Yoshi to appear online, and that after nearly nine months without a major update, any developer interaction is taken as a sign of an imminent patch.
Community members track Yoshi's online status closely, and gifts are spammed in chat whenever they appear. Fans even built yoshitracker.com, a site that watches live camera feeds outside Valve's headquarters, the amount of pizza ordered nearby, and other signals to guess when a patch will drop.
The site folds variables like Yoshi's time online, pizza orders, and Gabe Newell's yacht into a formula for the next patch. This behavior is a community meme, but it shows how hungry the Deadlock community is for updates. It is also a reminder that most Discord activity follows the game's patch cycle.
How to Join Safely
Never pay anyone for a Deadlock invite or Discord access. A how-to guide on the topic warns that people who ask for money are likely scammers.
Be careful who you accept an invite from. If the person inviting you already has a cheating ban, that ban can transfer to you as well.
After receiving a game invite, check the playtest invites page on Steam to confirm it arrived. If nothing is there, you may not have received the invite, or something may have bugged out.
Apart from Discord, the how-to guide points to the Reddit megathread on r/DeadlockTheGame and the Steam discussions as free places to request access. Every one of these routes should cost you nothing.
